More success!

I'm in danger of becoming totally obnoxious about this whole weight loss thing! Today was "weigh-in" day and I lost another 3.5 pounds! That puts me up to 9.5 pounds, people! Almost 10! Woo Hoo!! I know that the first few weeks you loose the most and that at my weight, it comes off a bit faster, but still... And I think the most rewarding part for me is that it's all clicking! I don't need those big portions I used to stuff myself with. Weekly pizza and Chinese carry-out, although missed, are not essential. I might actually, after all these years, be ready for this journey!

Enough about that. You know how cold it's been here. Nothing like Chicago, but much cooler than Clearwater! Today when Gary got up it was -12. Right now it's 2. We had to take the younger cat to the vet to get her claws trimmed, so I was forced to go out. So I donned my long underwear, LL Bean flannel lined jeans, my LL Bean Bay State parka and off we went. Since we were out, after we dropped off a rather indignant, twitchy cat, we went grocery shopping. (Another new phenomena of the weight loss journey. Gary always did all the grocery shopping so never looked at the food for price, let alone fat content, etc.). All I can say is thank goodness for LL Bean & my remote starter! It wasn't all that bad. In fact, I'm colder sitting here in the corner with 2 outside walls!

I have found a good way to be a little warmer is work on an afghan. I always have one in process, and I dug it out last night. It's at length where it drapes nicely over my lap, so I can stay warm and make some progress.

So...what have you been doing to stay warm?

I've been laying on the sofa, fireplace on (gas), blanket up to my chin and reading.
Keep up the hard work with your diet.....I know it is hard work!

ummm.....we're starting the 3rd rick of firewood for the woodstove. Keeps it nice and toasty in at least part of the house.

Great job on the weigh-in. You're doing awesome!

Woo hoo Linda! Keep up the hard work and congratulations. I am about to brave the cold to go to a crop, but I'll be bundled up and catching up with friends so it's all good. Stay warm!

Hooray for almost 10 lbs! Not that you needed to lose any lobs, but since you did - congrats!
