Monday Bloggin' - Music

Oh my! Music! My need for, my dependence on music is right up there with water, food, and love! I can't imagine a day without it. You know how they ask you if you had to lose a sense, which one would you choose? Well, the one I would never choose would be my hearing. A world without the sounds of music would just not be worth being in for me.

As for favorites, it's easier to list what I don't like: jazz, country & western. Jazz is too disorganized for me. Too discordant. No matter how hard I try, I can't make sense of it. The emotions it stirs in me are not pleasant. C&W - well, there's some genres I like: Western Swing, some of the newer country rock (X-Country), and Blue Grass. Of course, I consider Blue Grass more of a folk music than country.

On my MP3 player (no iPod yet) right now I have Paul McCartney, James Blunt, Loudon Wainright III, Amos Lee, Delbert McClinton, Avril Lavigne, The Proclaimers, Ben Harper, Ben Lee, Elton John, The Decemberists, Anna Nalick, Big Audio Dynamite, Cold Play, Gretchen Wilson, Shania Twaine, Lenny Kravitz, John Hiatt, The Cars, Rod Stewart, Lipps Inc, James Mraz, & Will Smith.

Well,,, you asked!
